Spring Mountain Christian Academy
Spring Mountain Christian Academy is a Christian private school for grades K-12 located in Clackamas, Oregon and hosted by Spring Mountain Bible Church. The academy offers qualified and caring Christian teachers in small classes with academic rigor integrated with interdenominational Christian emphasis. All teachers are believers who have been called to the ministry of teaching young people. They have been carefully selected based on their professional qualifications, experience, and devotion to Christ, allowing us to offer a quality Christian education.
Spring Mountain Christian Academy provides a challenging course of study that meets or exceeds admission requirements at top colleges and universities in the United States and abroad. Students are taught the skills and concepts that will serve as the foundation for future learning through the following:
• Four years of math, science, English, social studies, foreign languages and enrichment (fine arts, Bible and classical studies)
• Advanced Placement classes
• Junior and Senior capstone projects
• PSAT/NMSQT are taken by all 10th-11th graders, SAT are taken by all 11-12th graders

School hours are Monday – Thursday. Fridays are field trip days and family or homework days. We offer a great Kindergarten program for 4-year olds and 5-year olds. Kindergarteners can attend school twice a week or four times a week (full time). All classes run from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Our students are introduced to a great sports program, and a professional court is rented for basketball season. During soccer season, students of grades 7-12 have practices in Happy Valley Park at the end of the school day. Music is a major part of our school's curriculum. We have a school's choir and orchestra. Russian is taught as foreign language. Students are provided with a healthy hot lunch every day. Bus transportation is not provided by the campus, but parents are encouraged to car-pool and make arrangements with each other for easier driving schedule.
A traditional approach to learning is combined with other teaching techniques to assure development and mastery of necessary skills. Reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies are emphasized. Bible is not only taught as a subject but is also integrated throughout the entire curriculum. Additional enhancements and opportunities (such as private piano instruction on-site), drama classes, Chapel is led by students. The campus offers a variety of elective courses. In 2013-2014, for example, year alone we were able to teach our students economics, French language, literature (World, American, British), landscape and basic gardening, logic, fitness and weight training. The range of elective classes changes year-to-year.
Data from the National Education Longitudinal Study, "Fourth Follow-up" (NELS: 1988/2000) reveals that, "Students who had attended private school in 8th grade were twice as likely as those who had attended public school to have completed a bachelor's or higher degree by their mid-20s (52 versus 26 percent) and far less likely to have had no post-secondary education."
